Dana Williamson Obituary – Raceland, KY Death: In Remembrance Of Cherish Resident
Dana Glen Williamson, 59, of Raceland, Kentucky, peacefully passed away on Sunday, April 5, 2026, entering eternal rest with the Lord. Born on October 10, 1966, in Huntington, West Virginia, Dana’s life was defined by his devotion to his family, community, and love for the great outdoors. He was the cherished husband of Dawna Michele Johnson Williamson, and together they built a life rooted in love, adventure, and a deep commitment to their family. His greatest joy was found in his wife, Dawna, and their son, Austin.
Dana was preceded in death by his mother, Louvonna Jean “Jeanie” Williamson, in 2005, and his father, Glen Williamson, in 2018. He leaves behind a legacy of love and strength, as well as a family who will forever remember him with great fondness. He is survived by his devoted wife of 30 years, Dawna; his son, Austin; his brothers, Kevin (Lorna) and Michael (Stephanie); his sister, Angie Whitmore (David); his aunt, June; his uncles, Terry, Roger, and Rayburn; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family members.
Dana was a proud member of Minerva Lodge No. 13 A.F. & A.M. in Barboursville, West Virginia, where he held the rank of 32nd Degree Mason. Additionally, he was a respected member of Sheet Metal Workers Local 98. His love for the outdoors was evident in his many hobbies, particularly fishing at his cabin in Canaan Valley, West Virginia, and hunting in Calhoun County, West Virginia. Dana pushed through pain to stay involved in professional fishing, proudly representing the Mercury Pro Team and Kentucky Bass Nation. His adventurous spirit was infectious, and he loved spending quality time with his nieces, nephews, and friends. Dana’s life was filled with outdoor adventures that brought joy to all who joined him.
Dana’s contributions to his community were profound. He served as the mayor of Raceland and, alongside his wife, founded the Raceland Schools Archery Program in Raceland, Kentucky. He also volunteered at Wolf Pen Woods Pioneer Village in Rush, Kentucky, where he shared his passion for outdoor activities with young people. Dana’s legacy lives on in the lives he touched, his family, and the many adventures he shared with loved ones.
